🌍 Virtual Connections Around the World 2026
An opportunity to bring students together across cultures and continents
We are delighted to invite schools, librarians, teachers, and students to take part in Virtual Connections Around the World 2026, a special project of International School Library Month (ISLM).
This initiative provides an opportunity for students to connect with peers from different countries through real-time virtual conversations that go beyond geographical and cultural boundaries.
Through these connections, students can share stories, explore cultures, exchange ideas, and build friendships while discovering what they have in common with young people around the world.
Each year, this project demonstrates that although we may live in different places and experience different cultures, our shared love of stories, books, learning, and human connection can bring us closer together.
📅 Important Date
Registration deadline for Virtual Connections Around the World 2026:
31 October 2026
Schools are encouraged to register as early as possible so that they have sufficient time to identify a partner, communicate with the school, consider time-zone differences, and prepare their session.
✨ Ready to Connect?
Virtual Connections Around the World is an opportunity to turn the library into a window to the world.
Bring your students together with peers from another country. Share a story. Ask a question. Discover a culture. Exchange ideas. Build a connection.
Together, let us make ISLM 2026 an enriching international experience filled with meaningful conversations, cultural exchange, reading, learning, and connections that extend far beyond the classroom.
One conversation can open a window to another world.
Let’s connect, learn, share, and celebrate together.
