Librarians and teachers are central to making these international connections meaningful, well organised, and safe.
1. Initiate Contact
Choose a potential partner school from the provided list and make the first contact. Introduce your school and discuss the possibility of arranging a virtual connection.
2. Schedule Thoughtfully
Work with your partner school to identify a mutually convenient date and time. Please remember to consider the time-zone difference between the participating countries.
3. Plan the Session
ISLM will not arrange or host individual virtual meetings. Participating schools are responsible for communicating with their partners and organising their own sessions.
Teachers and librarians are encouraged to prepare:
discussion prompts;
guiding questions;
cultural-sharing activities;
book or reading-related themes; and
age-appropriate activities to encourage student participation.
Thoughtful preparation can transform a simple video call into a memorable and meaningful learning experience.
