✨ What People Are Doing for ISLM - 2025 Reports

Welcome to our celebration of International School Library Month (ISLM) 2025!

Romania – Bookmark Exchange

Class 2C from Școala Gimnazială Nr. 6 “Nicolae Titulescu”, Constanța, Romania, enthusiastically participated in the annual Bookmark Exchange Project as part of activities promoting reading, creativity, and international friendship.

The project involved 25 students and one parent volunteer. During this special activity, students brought their favorite books from home, presented them to their classmates, and explained why they had chosen them. The classroom became a joyful reading space where children celebrated reading for pleasure while also creating handmade bookmarks for their international partners.

Class 2C partnered with Jelena Poljak from Osnovna škola Žnjan-Pazdigrad, Split, Croatia. The Romanian students sent their bookmarks to their partners and were delighted to receive bookmarks in return. Along with the bookmarks, the Romanian team included a collection of postcards from the Romanian Post, which were greatly appreciated by their Croatian partners.

This exchange encouraged cultural sharing, creativity, communication, and a love for books among young learners, while strengthening international connections between schools.
