Meghan Harper, Ph.D

REGION 3 DIRECTOR - NORTH AMERICA

Meghan Harper, Ph.D is currently the Interim Director of the School of Information at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Dr. Harper has served as the graduate coordinator of the Masters of Library and Information Science program, and coordinator of the K-12 School Library program and has taught courses in the area of youth services. Dr. Harper is director of the Virginia Hamilton Multicultural Literature Conference, the longest running national conference of its kind.

Dr. Harper earned a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, a Master of Library Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Kent State University. Dr. Harper has held administrative positions of Assistant Curriculum Director, Director of Technology and Libraries, and as a school librarian at levels K-12. 
 
Her research areas include school library administration, assessment and evaluation, ethic of care, trauma informed service, multiliteracies, reference services, mindfulness and bibliotherapy.
