Virtual Connections Around the World-Skype/MS Teams/Zoom

These virtual teaching and learning platforms provide you an opportunity to connect with a school using any one virtual platform of your choice. To participate in this project the person in charge has to ensure that all students can easily connect via any one of these platforms Skype/Zoom/MS Teams from their home or at school.

Connecting through these virtual platforms is a wonderful opportunity for students around the world to talk in real-time during International School Library Month.  Students can learn from each other by connecting and getting to know about different cultures. They can share their love for reading while talking about books they have read and share reading recommendations.

Librarians/teachers will need to contact a participating school given in the list to connect with, keeping in mind the time zones that would be feasible for their school. ISLM will not make the matches for these connections.  The instructors will arrange times to make this connection and will discuss in advance what the students will be talking about and have all questions ready for a successful session!

The closing date for registering for the 2022 Virtual Project is 26 October 2022.

The following information will help you to participate in this Project:

1. Register online for this project. See Sheet 1 on the registration form at the link below.

2. Participants will need to install Skype/Zoom/MS Teams as per the choice they have made in the registration form to connect via these platforms on their devices and set up an account.

3. These sessions should be made during the month of October

4. It is recommended that participants arrange a call test via the selected virtual platform with the partner school a day before the scheduled connection day, to avoid any technical errors that may happen during the planned session.

5. Participants are asked to please return to the registration link after their virtual session to provide feedback and write a comment about their experiences on the Response Form at Sheet 2 of the registration form at the link below.

6. It would be fun for the participants to take screenshots of the actual session and submit those for inclusion on the “What Others Are Doing for ISLM” web page for International School Library Month. Don’t forget to tag us in your FB and Twitter posts. Use Hashtag #

7. After completing your project, don’t forget to download the certificate for your school, for your students and of course for yourself. (e-certificate will be ready on the webpage around November-Desember, please check on the web or contact the coordinator project)
