IASL President, Peter Genco reaffirms International School Library Day

As President of the International Association of School Librarianship, I am honored to reaffirm International School Library Day and that every fourth Monday in October will be celebrated as International School Library Day. Please join me and the members and friends of IASL around the world in our continued dedication to International School Library Day.

IASL has successfully celebrated International School Library Day since 1999. Each year it continues to grow and reach more people around the world. The IASL Website, School Libraries Online, had documented the many activities that have been developed each year by individuals from many different countries. This has included plans, stories, poems, anecdotes, photographs, and other materials. These postings have served as a springboard for the development of even more activities by our international colleagues.

I encourage you to read what others are doing, to participate in International School Library Day, and to share what you have done with others. You can use the Online Submission Form to tell us about your activities.

Thank you for being part of the global community!

Cheers,
Peter Genco
IASL President
