Conference Planning and Management: A Handbook

This Online Handbook provides basic information and suggestions to guide the conference organizing committee in developing plans for annual meetings of the International Association of School Librarianship (IASL). Personnel, types of facilities, availability of financial support, and conditions in each host city influence the development of plans. Therefore, the conference organizing committee carries out its responsibilities subject to local situations and in keeping with the conference objectives and overall mission and goals of IASL.

The general schedule for annual conferences attempts, as much as possible, to allow IASL to meet in Europe, North or South America, Africa, and the Pacific region over a 4-6-year period. The IASL Executive Committee encourages invitations/applications from countries in these regions to host the conference.
