IASL 2009 Annual Conference

Abano Terme (Padua), Italy, 2 - 4 September 2009

38th Annual Conference incorporating the 13th International Forum on Research in School Librarianship

IASL Auction

Would you like to help a colleague to join IASL? to come to a conference? to get published? to be able to contact other members in the organization? to begin the formation of an association in their local area?

Bring an “item” for the annual AUCTION at the IASL conference. The money we raise will go to the Support-A-Member, Support-an-Association, or other worthy projects that are designed to help people in developing countries meet and share with others.

The “item” for the auction should be easily portable. You have to bring it in your suitcase. Someone else has to take it home in his/hers. It could represent your region, school, libraries in general, or be of cultural interest.

Use your imagination; be creative, and we will see how much money the auctioneers, Gerald Brown & Pat Carmichael are able to extract from the conference delegates and friends. The Auction has been running now since 1989, and has raised over $ 30,000 US. Come and have some fun!

There will be items that will be part of the silent auction, the raffle, and the public auction.

Bring your item with you to the registration desk when you arrive at the Hotel Alexander Palace, in Abano Terme (Padua, Italy). There will be an appointed person at the registration desk who will collect the items. All items will be exhibited for all to see, well in advance of the Auction events.

In case you can't attend the Conference but you anyway want to help the IASL auction, please ship your item(s) to the following address:
