City Tour Program
The city tour will be held in the afternoon on July 20, 2007. We will visit the three most representative tourist attractions of Taipei.

Eslite Xinyi Bookstore
Asia biggest bookstore, the Eslite Xinyi Branch, opened its doors on December 16, 2005. After many favorable responses in the half-month since its
opening, the landmark twenty-four-hour palace of books - the Eslite Xinyi Bookstore - officially opened soon after midnight on January 1, 2006.
The Eslite
Xinyi store is 7000 pings, with 3000 given to books. The store contains Taiwan's largest selection of simplified Chinese books, Japanese books, and art
books. The store carries over one million volumes, and is open around the clock.
Eslite is well-known for its devotion to creativity and culture. The
blue lights outside the bookstore as symbolizing the sky, the green lights earth, the red lights peace and love, and the yellow lights treasure and happiness.
Construction can make a city big, but only culture can make a city great. Taipei needs more people willing to contribute to the city artistic life.
In the midst of exploring commercialism the Eslite Bookstore will be an oasis of culture and humanities. Eslite has set up a special exhibition area
for books on cinema and the city - volumes in which there is a low profit margin.

Taipei 101
Taipei 101 was opened to the public on December 31, 2004. TAIPEI is mnemonic for Techology, Art, Innovation, People, Environment, and Identity. 101
represents the concept of stiving beyond perfection.
Taipei 101, whose pinnacle reached full height in October 9, 2003, is currently the official world's tallest building in the categories of highest
structurally, highest roof, and highest occupied floow. The Sears Tower in Chicago holds the fourth category of overall height.
The multi-use structure will house retail facilities on Levels 1-4; a fitness center on Levels 5-6; offices on Levels 7-84; restaurants on Levels 86-88;
observation decks on Levels 89,91 and 101; and a communication facilities on Levels 92-100.
There is a station for the Taipei Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) beneath the building awaiting the eventual construction of the Hsinyi line.
On December 15, 2004, Toshiba installed the world's two fastest elevators. With top speeds of 1010 m/min, observation deck visitors can whiz from Level
B1 to 89 in 39 seconds.
A 900-ton tuned mass damper is installed on the 87th floor to counter earthquakes and typhoon. It will be available for public viewing from the restaurant
levels and observation deck.

National Palace Museum
The National Palace Museum is built in traditional Chinese palace style with white walls and green-tiled roofs. The main building, with its five
exhibition halls, resembles a plum blossom in shape and houses the world's largest and most precious 70,000 pieces collection of Chinese art
stored here are famour ceramics, porcelain, calligraphy, paintings, ritual bronzes, jades, sculptures, brocade screens, embroidery, and other
historical relics. The quality of its collection remains unparalleled anywhere throughout the world in the field of Chinese Art.
The Museum was
first established in 1925 at Beijing and relocated at Taipei, Taiwan after WWII. Nowadays the Museum is one of the most important museums as well as
