AUCTION
Silent Auction and Public Auction (at Dinner function July 9, 2005)
Would you like to help a colleague to:
Join IASL?
Come to a conference?
Get published?
Be able to contact other members in the organization?
Begin the formation of an association in their area?
Bring an "item" to the annual AUCTION. The money we raise will go to the
Support-a-Member, Support-an-Association, or other worthy
projects that are designed to help people in developing countries meet
and share with others.
The "items" for the auction should be easily portable. You have to bring
them in your suitcase. Someone else has to take it home in
his/hers. It could represent your region, school, and libraries in
general, or be of cultural interest.
Use your imagination; be creative, and we will see how much money the
auctioneer, Gerald Brown is able to extract from the conference
delegates and friends. The Auction has been running now for at least 15
years and has raised over $25,000 US in that time. Come and have
some fun.
There is something to be won in silent auctions and the public auction.
Bring your items with you to the registration desk when you arrive in Hong
Kong, so that they can be exhibited for all to see, well
in advance of the Auction event.
