IASL International Awards Programme:

IASL/SOFTLINK INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH GRANT

Introduction

This award is made possible by SOFTLINK International (through Bob Dunne, Softlink's Managing Director from Australia). Softlink produce the award-winning school library automation system that is known as OASIS in Australia, Annie in the United States of America, Alice in the United Kingdom, and EMBLA in Iceland. In 1997 Softlink introduced their Windows based library management system, Alice for Windows, now known as Softlink Alice.

The grant (of US$500) is made to an IASL member in aide of attracting funding for research in school librarianship.


Award Recipient

  • 2001 Jennifer Branch (Canada), for a proposed study of information-seeking processes of 10 to 15 year old students. The award is made in aide of attracting additional funding.
