ENSIL Bookmark Swap

The ENSIL Bookmark Swap, which took place in March 2008 at the ECIS Conference in Berlin, was a great success. School librarians from international schools throughout Europe and beyond brought thousands of bookmarks from all over the world. Those who took part in the swap donated one (or more) special bookmarks to the IASL auction which will take place in August 2008 in Berkeley, California. Some of the bookmarks from Russia, China, Belgium, Sweden, Turkey are really beautiful. These bookmarks will all be forwarded to the IASL International Ambassador, Mr Gerald Brown, who will make sure they are included in the auction. The money which is earned during this famous yearly auction will be used to assist school libraries in developing countries. Bookmark swappers also donated one or moer bookmarks to the John F. Kennedy Schule in Berline. These bookmarks have already been handed over to the grateful school librarians. [Sumbitted by Helen Boelen, 9 March 2008]
